Going to North Cyprus? Here are some things you can do
North Cyprus is the quieter Turkish part of Cyprus which still uses the Turkish Lira, meaning cheaper, better value for tourists. It’s slowly becoming more popular but still retaining it’s natural beauty without the over building of beachside buildings and mass tourism like the Eurozone sourthern end. There’s some greats things to do on this idyllic, quiet island.
- Visit Alexander the Great’s ship – the ship was rediscovered in 1967 after sinking 2,300 years ago when alexander the Great conquered the world. It has been preserved at the Shipwreck Museum and includes a cargo of perfectly preserved almonds.
- View Sleeping Beauty’s Castle – some say that St Hilarion Castle was the insipration for the castle in Disney’s famous Sleeping Beauty. It is a steep climb up a narrow road that ascends to over 3,000 feet. Many say it’s worth it just for the view.
