Hire A Speed Boat On Holiday
I’ve just come back from a week long break in Oludeniz in Turkey and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The weather was perfect, sunny all day, the sea was warm and the people were very friendly and not too in-your-face as I had been warned about before my holiday. Me and my girlfriend spent the first couple of days sunbathing until we both looked sun-kissed, and then decided to arrange a few activities to keep ourselves occupied.
One morning a guy came along the beach and sat down next to us offering us the chance to hire a speed boat for the day. There were loads of organised boat trips we could have gone on, where you’re on a big boat with another 100 or so holiday makers but decided that the speed boat idea was more up our street, and we could speed around the coast, mooring our boat close to all the lovely little bays, coves, beaches etc which dotted the coastline.
So, mid way through the holiday we set off at 10:00am and the guy simply did a 10 minute demonstration for us before diving off and allowing us to go off on our own for the day complete with a cool box full of water, beer and snacks. It cost just over £100 but for a whole 6 hours we sped around, overtook all the organised boat trips an had a brilliant time. I would highly recommend hiring a speed boat to anyone who fancies something a bit different. We had one minor hiccup when the anchor got stuck in some rocks until a nice guy selling icecreams from his speed boat came to help us out.
All in all it was well worth it!!! But don’t forget your sun cream!!!
