Not the best year for flying
Now there is a new coalition government, plans to scrap the current Air Passenger Duty have been confirmed and there it seems very likely that prices of flights will be hiked up and also fewer flights being flown. Instead it will impose a flight tax which will tax per plane flown.
This is good news for flight companies which regularly fly full and have newer, more fuel efficient planes. The aim is to cut down on flights travelling inefficiently with half empty seats. The bad news is the result of this new flight tax will see a drop in overall flights as companies try to avoid unprofitable flights and will also see a lack or competition between companies.
